How does the "finger guillotine" magic trick work?

The one I have seen is mostly done with a drop down plastic frame with reverse angle mirrors to give the impression your finger's chopped off . In reality your finger just slides down through the plastic frame while the mirrors make it look like it's just your half of finger is chopped off. so...you place your finger in the hole, drop the "blade" and then you push your finger down to the bottom of the guillotine. Your finger stays through the hole the whole time.  This takes all but about 3 seconds to accomplish. The mirrors obstruct your view so it shows just a black background and not your whole finger poking through.
