i am wondering why i was given a 75 on the scoring category worksheet for the california dept of corrections. all i did was fill out an application and tell them the prisons that i would be willing to work at. how did that equate to me getting a 75 (which is below the minimum score of 85 to continue the hiring process). also will my ten points i get for my veterans preference add onto to that or is it for the written exam?

  1. It rates you on what kind of jobs youve had, your education level, whether youve been convicted of anything or not and drug use. When i did mine it gave me a 75 too, i have security experience,no college degree and have never done drugs or been arrested. Since they have so many applicants the passing score is 85 like you said. So to get in right now you have to have a college degree and experience. You get your veterans credit when you take the written test. Goodluck
