There are 30 stocks called the Sensex Scrips.The sensex fluctuates along with the fluctuations in the price of these stocks.Each of these scrips has been alotted a different weightage in the sensex in accordance with their importance in the economy.The sensex fluctuates along with the prices of these 30 scrips in proportion with their weightage in the sensex.The price of these scrips fluctuates by Demand-Supply ie when the Demand exceeds supply the price rises and when Supply exceeds demand the price falls.Accordingly the sensex also rises and falls.In short it is all a matter of demand and supply and nothing else!
