  1. Daytime..Blue, a very deep blue

    Night..jet black with stars

Both sunrise and sunset are beautiful when seen from an airplane!

  2. BEAUTIFUL! The first time on an airplane at dusk, you can get quite a spectacular sunset... a darkish orange. The air is also a bit cleaner up high, making the sky even clearer than on the ground.

  3. Blue.  But the clouds are VERY close or you fly through them.  It's friggin awesome.

  4. Bluer than what it looks like from the ground - because the cloud is all below you.

Just when the sun is settting, the sky gets incredibly beautifully dark blue and deep red horizon.

Don't tell me you've never been on a plane...

    Good Luck...

  5. I hate to have to tell you this, but it depends on the weather.

Sometimes it's blue with white clouds, but sometimes it's gray and cloudy; sometimes it's just black.  It can even be completely featureless and white so you can't tell which way is up.

At night it is completely dark.  On a summer afternoon in the Eastern USA, it's hazy.  Like flying in a boiling hot bowl of potato soup.  In the winter it's more likely to be clear and blue with white clouds.

The haze only reaches up to a certain altitude, and above that it's clear and blue.  Sometimes you can be on top of a cloud layer, and then it's like being in a room with a floor of thick white wool and walls and ceiling of blue with clouds, fading to darker blue near the middle at the top.

At 40,000 feet it can even be black with stars, directly overhead, even on a bright sunny day.

I hope you will get to go do it, soon.

  6. the higher you go the darker the sky becomes.

  7. Alot of it depends on your elevation....How far you are flying.  If let say you were going from Cleveland to Columbus... You would top out at maybe 22,000 feet, and the fastenseatbelt sign bell would go dingding and turn off, immediately followed by dingdingdong...and turn back on.  As soon as you reach your flying altitude, you start to come down for the next airport.   And may never get out of the clouds, if it were a dreary day.

If you were going from say Little Rock Arkansas to Cleveland, you may top at 32,000 feet...in which case you would certainly be above most cloud levels, and be able to see below you the same thing that you would see above you if you were on the ground.  If you went to Google Earth, and did a satilite view of say your state or anyplace you want to see...you could adjust your altitude for the sat view, and get a fairly good idea of what the things on the ground would look like.  Of course the colors in real life will be a little more vibrant, in the air looking down, but you wont experience the queezy stomach sometimes associated with getting your "cloudlegs" when you hit turbulence by sitting in front of your computer.  Either way...I would suggest that if you've never flown, you put that on your "Bucket List"  It really is an awsome experience.  The roughest part for most people are the takeoff, and the actual landing, when the wheels hit the ground, and then the back thrust of the jet engines.  I, however absolutely love it.  I guess to me it probably feels the same as what it might feel like to be in front of a d********x without a safeword....you give up absolute total control to the pilot, and hope for the best.

  8. LMAO AT CEEGSTER  or wateva his name is!! :)) being infront of a d********x without a safeword!! LMFAO!!!! ok well to answr ur question it looks very blu!! how the hekk do u think it looks??  its friggin blu!! but when the sun sets its sooo beautiful   its like orange and purple n its jus reele beautiful   ima take a pic the nx time i go in an airplane!!

  9. im blind sorry.. n_n

  10. Flying above the clouds -

NIGHT: Jet black with stars twinkling, and if the moon is out a beautiful bluish white halo around the moon.

DAY: Beautiful blue. On the horizon with the sun either rising or setting, a splash of golden orange heralding the sun or wishing it good night.

    DAWN/DUSK: Blue combined with grey/white.
