  1. Most of the taste depends on the mixer you use. So go to the liquor store and buy a bunch of miniature 1oz bottles and try them with no mixer. See which one you like and then try them with mixers. Experiment.

  2. Try all of them, and see the differences

Also the different volume of alcohol they have makes their taste unique...

  3. That's like asking "What's the taste differences between Apple Juice, Coca-Cola, Coffee, Blue Gatorade, Red Hi-C and Sprite?"

They are all unique and different in their own ways.  Each person has different tastes for them too.  I would suggest you try them all out and decide for yourself what you like.

For your specific examples though, here is some basics:

Vodka is a clear strong tasting liquor, very mixable, one of the staples of many good drinks and found at nearly every bar and in every liquor store.

Martinis are a type of cocktail made with either Vodka or Gin and some Vermouth.  They are very stout.

Rum is my fave.  Pick up some Captain Morgan and mix it with Sprite.  Also Bacardi Superior and Diet Cola is awesome too.

Beer...oh the Vast differences of beer...don't get me started.  Beer is a great starting place for your 21st birthday.

  4. I recommend straight tequilla as a good starter liquor (it worked for me), but screwdrivers and rum & coke  or gin & coke are also good. If you're looking for stuff that tastes good and gets you drunk you should try sweet wines, fortified wines or malt beverages. Those are usually cheap and have plenty of sugar/flavoring. The alcohol content isn't that high, but generally sipping four wine coolers is less of a chore than gulping down a small glass of cheap vodka.

Vodka is supposed to have very little taste, but I can still taste the alcohol and you probably will too.

Rum is made from molasses and has a slightly sweet molasses taste.

Martinies are made form vodka or gin and a little bit of vermouth.

Vermouth is a fortified wine flavored with herbs and spices. It's usually bitter and spicy.

Most drinks that end in, " tini" taste like what they're flavoured to taste like.

Gin tastes like pine sap. It's flavored with berries of the Juniper tree.

Tequilla is made from the extract of the roast agave cactus, though most of the cheap stuff is almost half molasses and other adulterants. It usually tastes kind of sweet.

Beer is an acquired taste. It's usually kind of bitter. The cheap stuff tastes like seltzer water with a hint of yeastiness and the expensive stuff gets more and more complex with hints of chocolate, hops, oats, and dozens of other flavors.

Most liquor in the US is 40% alcohol by volume or 80 proof. Most beer and malted beverages are less than five percent or they'll brag about it on the label. Most  wine is 10-20% alcohol.

  5. Rum, Gin, bourbon, beer, malibu etc. all taste terrible in my opinion. Of my friends only the males and the hardcore female drinkers like them. They're very very strong and you can definitely taste the alcohol.

Vodka is great. Just grab some Smirnoff and mix it with any softdrink or orange juice and it's great. Just don't put too much vodka in there, you don't want to burn your throat out.

I personally recommend fruity drinks like midori and bacardi. You can buy them premixed or just mix your own and you can't even taste the alcohol. You can feel the effects though!

Martini's/cocktails i'm not so sure about. But don't go for anything too hardcore too quickly, you'll probably have no resistance to the alcohol, I remember I didn't. I was drunk off 3 standard drinks!

  6. I love vodka mixed with orange juice! Try Smirnoff first! im only 18....lol You never drank anything....parties nothin? lol okay but yeah i love vodka its my fav....lol not plain though mixed with somethin fruity!

  7. It's kinda hard to describe a taste !

It's weird, but I have a very clear comparaison for Gin: it definitely tastes like the smell of pine needles !

told you, it's weird. Don't forget to try Gin, it's probably the most powerful taste among strong alcohols (except maybe Absinthe but this is a very very hardcore drink, like 70% alcohol)

  8. well beer is generally what teenagers start off with but since your going to be 21 then go to a nice bar and ask for something you like....if you like a particular fruit juice then ask him what he or she likes...vodka is usually a good starter because it just has a general liquor taste in my opinion..a nice mixed drink i like for the summer is a mojito(seen the lame Miami Vice movie?)it has a very good clean minty flavor....i myself like rum because if you get the right kind (Captain Morgan of course) you will taste a nice caramel taste.....original spiced is a good mixer....silver makes mojitos beautifully.....and if you wanna have a shot or drink it straight private stock is the way to go.....sure there are flavored rums, vodkas, gins, etc. but i personally believe in making your own whether it is juice or a bought mixed will do you some good....and if in doubt ask and I'm sure you can find someone nice enough to point you in a direction you can enjoy.....have fun most of all tho

  9. try each one you'll know which one you'll like everyones different. But beer is really manly so i would say no to it.
