  1. There are 6 divisions 3 in NL and 3 in the AL in Baseball. The division leaders make the playoffs and whoever has the best record not leading their division wins the Wildcard. Same as Football but Football has 8 divisions and 4 Wildcard winners. 2 in each. Basically whoever has the best record not leadind their division.

  2. there are 2 leagues.  AL and NL or for football AFC and NFC.  the winner of each of the 6 divisions gets an automatic playoff birth.  then the 1 team from each league with the best record that did not win their division gets the last remaining playoff spot, the wild card.

  3. MLB? easy. After the division winners are counted in the playoffs, the team with their respective league's best record wins the Wild Card. If it's a tie, the tied teams will play a 163rd game against eachother to determine playoff berth.

NFL? It's a little more complicated.

After the division winners are counted in the playoffs, 2 two teams per conference with the best record other than the division winners are sent to a Wild Card round, along with the two 'worst' division winners in each conference. If at any point two teams have the same record, the team who scored the most points will move on.

I wish I could've put it more clearly.

  4. For each conference(east and west), there are three divisions each.  The team(1 from each conference), which does not finish first in their division, but comprises of the best record among all teams that did not win their divison is awarded a wild card spot in the playoffs.

For MLB, theres 1 wildcard winner for each conference.

For NFL, theres 2 wildcard winners for each conference.
