And what is the difference between a phone line internet and a cable internet?

Is the ADSl cable internet?

  1. This product is only good for connecting to a modem with a lan connection on the home network side. You first said you had a modem, then a voice router. Which is it? If you have a dsl modem you are better to get a dsl router /modem to replace it. If you have a dsl modem connecting to a voice router, you can NOT use a second router without causing yourself serious problems. You are also now making the system very complex. If this is the case your only option is a wireless access point in stead. DSL of nay form is phone line. You will NOT be able to use a usb connection on any of this.

  2. Yes it will connect to your ADSL router...but your router should have an ethernet jack......

the only thing is that when you do...log into the router....*normally 192.168.0.1 or similar* and go into PPPoE ....then type in your username and password if your ADSL normally asks for it...

Phone line internet is a dedicated line that comes from a phone substation while cable also comes from a substation...but usually is shared with around an entire block or so...

ADSL stands for Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line...and no it's not cable internet...just means that download will usually be faster than the upload...

  3. If you haven't bought the above item yet, why not get a combined wireless access point and ADSL modem?

This will communicate with your PC (presumably a laptop) via wireless, and simply plug into a broadband filter and then your telephone line.
