How does the wood block clock work?

My dad can make clocks... (He's good with electronics.) I was hoping he could make a wall version of it for my new room so I wanted to know how it works.

  1. this is more woodworking then electronics. what you would do is buy a basic led clock- then embed it in a wooden box, enclosed on all sides but one. On that side you would glue a thin piece of wooden veneer, so the light still shines through it
