i have an HP Pavilion dv2615us and it has this slot (the red one) and next to it it says

SD•MS/Pro

MMC•XD (blue box)

and i looked these up on the internet and they are all different sizes. so i was wondering how did this card slot worked with all of these cards. do i have to buy something else in order to put the card in?

  1. Well what happens is most of the cards will have a "converter" that typically comes with the card when you buy it.  If it doesn't then it's no big deal just have to put the card in gently and find the correct slot to put it in.  It's a delicate process but you can take care of it.

    Take care,

  2. Your picture is sort of blurry, but you can insert an SD Card, and MS Card into the red slot. You can insert a MMC Card and the XD Card into the other, despite the different sizes. It will work and automatically detect what type of card you inserted. You don't have to ANYTHING, unless you have a card that is NOT an SD, MS, MMC, or XD. Then ou have to buy the reader for that one card.

Hope this helps and enjoy your day!
