I found this old lamp in my basement it turns on just by touching it, you have to touch one of the metal parts since the glass ones don't do it. Anywhere you touch on it does it. Also if you touch it with something metal it works but not with something plastic. I have to know how it works! The only idea i have is a complex network of wires that use your finger as a conductor but that seems very impractical. Somebody has to know how this lamp works! I think its about 20 years old but i really have no idea. How does this thing work?

  1. The main thing is....it measures the resistance of human being or any thing has a certain resistance between the metal part of lamp and the ground. One side of power source is actually connected to the ground for all the electricity system in the world. The lamp has a electronic device to detect the resistance changes between the metal part (input) and ground. As it falls into a certain preset range,it switches on the lamp.
