My bestfriend is due September 20th, and she really needed help picking out a name. Her name is Sadieki, and he Fiancee name is Lee, so she wanted the baby's name to be similar

So, I came up with a name, and I wanted to know wat everyone thinks of it before I told her.

First name: Seiko (Zay - Coe)

Middle name: Lieoki (Lee- O -Key)

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ANY RUDE COMMENTS ABOUT THE NAMES!! She is Japenese and really wanted the names to be connected to her name and her culture, so please just tell me what you think of it and keep all rude comments to yourself.

Thanks!

  1. They aren't bad but people who see them without pronunciation next to them will not know how to say them. The child might have to deal with correcting people all the time.

  2. haha, you mean Seiko as in the WATCH company??????? Why would you do that to a kid? They will be made fun of.

Are you japanese? I think its stupid for someone who is not Japanese to try and make up some Japanese sounding name to suggest to her. Im sure she can find out what names would mean the most to her culture her self. Also, I doubt she would want her kid named after a watch company!

  3. are u japanese?  Bcuz that's really not how to write a japanese name in english.  Are you trying to make up something and hope that everyone thinks it's suppose to be japanese?  If you write it as "seiko"  it'll more than likely be pronounce "se" and not "ze" by pretty much everyone.  Why don't you just spell it w/ the "z"?  And as far as the middle name, I wouldn't want the word "lie" in my name...would you?  If you take out the "e" it would look better.  Are these names supposed to have any meaning behind them? (like "Aiko (eye-ko) means love child)  Is she really japanese?  I've spent 14 years learning it and those names didn't sound (from your discription) like japanese.

BTW..."seiko" IS a real name but YOUR pronounciation is ALL wrong.

  4. those names are HOT! if it's a girl, the guys will love her long time! if it's a guy, the girls would love him long time! such a cool name! seriously!

  5. i like lieoki, but seiko is a watch brand.   it would be like naming your kid honda, toyota, sanyo, toshiba, hitachi, mitsubishi, etc.  seiko just makes me think of a cheap plastic watch....sorry.  i hope i don't sound rude...i'm just trying to be honest.

  6. Seiko is nice.

But is Lieoki a real name even?

  7. I don't think the first one looks like it is pronounced.

maybe Sayko Lieoki would work better. other than that I think its really cute.

  8. Names that mean something..I totally agree...how about these?

Aiko- Beloved little one(as all girls are)

             or

    Miyoko- Beautiful Generations..

    I love those..

    Hope I helped!

  9. so Seiko is pronounced zay coe? the middle name is wonderful and the first name is nice and unique the only thing is young hoodlums will call him/her psycho but that matters not what name can you not make fun of..lol

  10. Seiko is a brand of watch based out of Japan, named after the Japanese word for exquisite. I cannot imagine anyone of Japanese descent that is truly in touch with their culture, using it as a name. Leioki is not a Japanese name as there are no "L" sounds in the Japanese language.

  11. I like the 1st 1 but maybe Lesiedo(Lay-say-doe)or sum idk just a suggestion

  12. i like seiko i'm not sure the names flow well together

  13. Ive always loved the name Seiko..and it goes good with lieoki ...very cute.

  14. I like Seiko

  15. those are cool names, at first when i didn't read the last part, i was like ...ok... but know that i see she is japanese, they are good names.

  16. I really like them! The only thing is, are they actually Japanese names? If so, that's awesome. But if not, I'd be concerned with giving my children "made up" Japanese names.

  17. the first name sounds like a watch brand

  18. Remember that there is a lot more in a name that what we give credit for. I don't want to sound rude, but do these names have a meaning? If they do then let her choose according to the meaning. Also remember that a name is for the rest of your life, so advice your friend to be careful and to check a lot of sources, there are thousands of web sites on baby names of all cultures and all languages, so check it out.

  19. First name: Sishwa

    nickname: Sishwers

  20. pretty.

  21. I think the name is really nice and unique.

  22. It sounds like she's seiko. no offence. how about you swap middle name and first name good luck :)

  23. Seiko over Lieoki. I doubt Lieoki is even a Japanese name, there's no L in the Japanese language, you know!

Ever noticed? RRets pRRay the Weakest RRink??

And Seiko is like. The watch. I'd suggest a better/prettier japanese name. You don't even pronounce it like Zay-Coe! Japanese is like the easiest language because you say it PHONETICALLY. S-ei-ko
