This is from a technical/community college.

  1. Are these salaries for teaching at a community college? If so, they are substandard. Many public school districts have the same pay scales for their teachers. If one is teaching on a college level, the pay should be higher.

  2. It depends on the level and the state...I think it's great because the starting base pay is higher than the district I teach in!  But the cost of living where I live is probably lower, too.  All-in-all, it looks pretty decent!

  3. Not too shabby.

  4. Not to brag but I'm off the scale.

Unfortunately there has to be a scale of reference for pay.  To pay everyone the same would be nice but a value is placed on peoples labours.  Why should a Nurse who works very hard get paid less than I do who doesn't work very hard physically.  I've gone to school, put in my time, gone back to school, and put in even more time I should get paid more than some of my colleagues BUT everyone with whom I teach with will get paid exactly as I do in time.  Unions are great they take the incentive out of working.

  5. pretty good
