I'm in the process of cycling my 15 gallon tank, but i'm starting to think of fish to put in it :)

how does this sound?

a *female* betta

5 tetras

3 albino cory cats

what do you think? will that work? are there any interesting fish that i could put in there instead?

thanks! (please answer from experience)

  1. A female betta is every bit as aggressive as a male and is likely to eat the tetras.

I'd go for 6-8 tetras, 4 corys and maybe some shrimp. You could get a pair of Honey Gourami for a slightly bigger 'feature' fish.

  2. that does sound find to me. what species of tetra were you thinking of? stick with fairly docile ones like glolights, neons or maybe cardinals.

put 4 corys instead of 3 and that would be fully stocked.

if you think it looks empty, put more plants in! (live or silk).

  3. You could add a female or male betta, NOT BOTH! a few african dwarf frogs would be a cool adition, but nothing more than that b/c it would overcrowd it. Do not add the frogs untill the tank cycles b/c they are very sensitive to ammonia.

  4. Try getting 2 more Cories since they prefer to be in schools as well.

But your stocking sounds like a good community tank!
