  1. unfortunately you cannot trade from any older version, you have to migrate from them, which moves the pokemon from the older version to diamond/pearl. you cannot return them to the older versions. if you are talking about the oldest versions like red blue yellow gold silver or crystal it just cannot be done. to migrate from fire red leaf green ruby sapphire and emerald you have to get the national dex to open up the pal park. you get the nat dex by seeing all 150 pokemon in the sinnoh region and beating the E4.  then talk to proffessor rowan in sand gem town and you will get the national dex, and proffesor oak will tell you where to go to find the pal park.

you cannot find snorlax in diamond and pearl but you can catch a munchlax by putting honey on trees. they are rare though

  2. When you get the national des on pearl/diamond, go pal park, and talk to the guy, then save, shut it off, put Leaf Green, Fire Red, Emerald, Sapphire, or Ruby in the GBA game slot, then, on the screen that says *Continue*, *New Game*, pick *migrate from (whichever game you put in) and then it says you can only migrate every 24 hrs, then pick 6 pokemon, migrate em', go to Pal Park and talk to the guy. Don't forget to bring a pokemon that can learn surf if you migrated a water-type pokemon. To get Snorlax (or other pokemon), "the cheating way" just get an action replay and I can give you the wild pokemon mod code, and tell you how to use it.

  3. First of all, it's NOT A TRADE!  IT'S AN IMPORT Feature.

Before you import pokemon from the GBA series, you first need to complete the following, in the most relevant order:

    1) Become Pokemon League Champion (completing the game)

    2) Complete the Sinnoh PokeDex (see all 150 Pokemon)

    3) Obtain the National PokeDex (by completing the Sinnoh PokeDex) -- if you've completed the game without seeing all 150 Pokemon, you'll have to visit Prof. Oak in Eternal City for this.

    4) Visit the Pal Park

Once you complete all 4 requirements, the Pal Park will be open & you can start importing pokemon from the GBA series.

To do this, you just plug in your Pokemon GBA cart into your DS's GBA Slot.  This will add "Import from Pokemon x*x" in the start menu.  Select that & you'll be asked to select 6 Pokemon to import.

Please note that the pokemon you want to import cannot know any HM moves.  The main reason behind this is that there's different HM moves between the series & it could cause problems.  The pokemon must be in boxes as well as the pokemon in your trainer's party will not be noted as available.

Once you have your 6 pokemon selected, hit import to import them into the Pal Park.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  ONCE YOU HIT IMPORT, THE POKEMON WILL BE PERMANENTLY REMOVED FROM THE GBA CART & CANNOT BE MOVED BACK TO THE GBA CART!  PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND WHEN IMPORTING RARE POKEMON!!!

Once you've imported the Pokemon, head to the Pal Park & play the minigame there to pick them up.  The faster (& the rarer) the pokemon you grab out of the Pal Park, the more points you'll earn & the high chance of breaking the high score (giving you a better gift item).

Please note that you're limited to import 6 pokemon per GBA game cart per 24 hours.  However, you can do this as many times as you would like within these restrictions.

The GBA & DS clocks have to be in sync as well to import pokemon.  If the clocks aren't in sync, the DS version will tell you & ask if you want to resync the clocks.  While the resync process only takes a minute, it will prevent you from importing pokemon from that cart for 24 hours.

When I say 24 hours, I mean 24 hours EXACTLY!  Don't bother adjusting your DS clock to bypass this as it'll cause you to reset that waiting time back to 24 hours.

That should be everything you need to know.  Enjoy!

SUPPLEMENTAL:  To get a Snorlax, you just have to get a Munchlax (which can be found in Pokemon D/P by slathering honey on the trees) to perform a friendship evolution.  This is the only non-trading method available.

  4. the snorlax thing i know...you need to get honey and put it on certain trees. then if your lucky you'll get a munchlax, he evolves into a snorlax.

as for getting the older pokemon, you can use wi-fi and trade ppl who have them or if you have older versions of the game you can use the palpark
