  1. Depends on the station, but the top hour news tends to cover more stories.


  2. Top of the hour (7:00, 8:00 etc.) is usually national, bottom of the hour (7:30, 8:30) is local, traffic and weather.

  3. Top of the hour news is longer than bottom of the hour and includes national news, weather, and often some local news as well. Bottom of the hour is often shorter and is mostly just local headlines.
