im getting ready to start a new job soon and they offer tuition reimbursement for any course you choose. generally how does the tuition reimbursement program work?

  1. Generally speaking:

    You sign up for the class and pay.  Take your class, and when the class is complete, you'll need to provide documentation to the company.  Normally they will require the actual cost of the course (most places that I know about won't reimburse for the cost of text books), and you must have passed the course with at least a C.  

    Each company has their own specific rules, so you should check with you HR representative.  You'll probably also need to get pre-approval.  Don't just sign up for classes, and expect them to pay for it.  Fill out the paperwork before the class starts - make sure you give them enough time to approve the request before the class begins.
