  1. Tylenol #3 (Tylenol with codeine) contains 30mg of codeine, an opiate analgesic (painkiller).  Codeine is an alkaloid found in opium.  They also contain 300mg of acetaminophen (Tylenol).  Opiates work by binding to opioid receptors in the Central Nervous System (CNS) and gastointestinal tract.  They do not actually "target" pain but instead they cause a numbing sensation throughout the entire body.  If you were to have pain somewhere else (ie shoulder, middle finger, etc) the Tylenol #3 would lessen the pain there, also.

  2. Its pretty weak  when it comes to helping pain. It doesnt really work for me but everyones different. Try fiorinal with codeine it has something in it that makes the codeine stronger. I like vicodin personally.

  3. As a recovered drug user I believe Tylenol 3 has Codeine in it.  It is one of the natural Opiates and is basically like morphine.  It basically blocks the pain receptors from sensing the pain and causes general numbness.  Tylenol 3 also has Paracetamol which is also known as acetaminophen which is another analgesic (pain reliever).

  4. dulls nerve receptors. simple as that.
