  1. All universities have similar policies:

they all have an undergraduate, and graduate department

they all have courses that are manditory, as well as electives based on your major.

so if you know what you want to major in, then just ask the advisers in school which classes are relavent and necessary for you to graduate from the school with that major.

if not, then you have some time before you have to make up your mind.

All students have to take the GE (general ed) courses which includes classes like Speech, English, Math, etc....   It will not be super difficult Math classes, or Shakespear style English...but just general courses to make sure all graduates have at least the "minimum" standard.

And after you've completed all the GE classes, you're free to take the rest however you want.

    good luck and have fun

  2. Mostly all universities have core curriculum's/general ed requirements which everyone must take. Then other classes are based on your intended field of study which may or may not require classes in other fields. For Bachelor's you need at least 120 credits/hours and for Associate's at leas 60 credits/hours.

Most colleges have a planned curriculum of classes that you must take. You don't have to guess, think or anything, they tell you exactly what to take and some schools even tell you when to take them.

Say you want to be an accountant. You don't just take accounting classes, you still have to take English, Math, Scienct ect.

  3. You have to study a bunch. You get a choice.

  4. Each university has different degree requirements for different degree programs.  You will most likely be required to take General Education (GE) requirements as well as your major degree requirements.  GE requirements are courses from different subjects like English, Math, History, Sciences, Social Sciences, Foreign languages and Arts and Humanities.  GE requirements are designed to expose the student to a multitude of subjects and disciplines.  Your major degree requirements will expose you to your chosen major subject in dept.

When you attend your university, establish a relationship with your academic adviser to ensure that you are on the right track to your degree program requirements.

    Best wishes!
