  1. Electric power generators either use boilers which heat water to turn it to steam which turns the generator, or turbines which are basically jet engines.

If the boilers use coal or gas to heat the water, then they generate co2.  All turbines use natural gas which creates co2.

Nuclear power uses fission to heat the water, and this process does not crate any co2.

  2. 52% of the US power grid is supplied by burning coal.  When you burn coal, it releases CO2 as a byproduct.

  3. About 50% of the electricity produced in the US, comes from coal-fueled power plants. Carbon from the burning coal reacts with air to form carbon dioxide.  So the more electricity a person uses, the more coal that has to be burned to produce that electricity.

  4. The electricity is produced by generators which produce carbon dioxide.

  5. Everything causes carbon dioxide according to the alarmists.  Especially Bush and his cabinet members.  The big oil men, before they were oil men were cattle farmers.  You notice that many of the arguments also encompass meat eating and cows?  I just thought that a bit ironic or moronic.

But electricity does figure in the mix though.  This person who claims to be all powerful in knowledge, claims that his vehicle(s) run on electricity supplied by wind power and his scooter runs off of bio-diesel.  Even if electricity could produce CO2, the only thing you are doing by not using an infrastructure that is already in place is allowing someone else to use it.  But the concern is that electricity is produced by toxic fossil fuel burning plants...  Of course that is an exception for nuclear power and places like the Hoover Dam.

So, no matter what, if it is negative or even a perceived negative, it will be tied to this evil, evil global warming that they claim is happening.
