Floods can cover a large area depending on why that flood is happening.  They can ruin structures in a house or you have to tear out the wall because of the damage to the walls and insulation.   Household items are also damaged along with electrical circuits caused mainly by rust.   A strong enough flood can also move houses off of their foundations and also create unsanity conditions as waste products mix with the water and pollute the clean water supply.

yes it depends on how sever it is . people die in hundred and some times in thousands.their houses are broken or burried under earth along with all the belongings--animals  cars buses and trucks etc. those who remains suffer with the lack of food,clothes,pure water,medicines and what not . they suffer for every want of life.it is something horrible.
