  1. It depends some of the companies run off of cell phone towers but there will alaway be a instruction manual

  2. dialup is 56 kilobytes

my dsl gets up to 408 megabytes on a good day

62 megabytes on a slow day

it seems like a thousand times faster

    pages load in 2 seconds

  3. Magic thats how it works. you need high speed to do it...theres no one that supports dial-up to my knowledge. its easy but can be frustrating.

  4. Wireless just eliminates the need for a physical cable connecting the computer...it's possible for dial-up but impracticle and rediculessly slow (trust me, I tried it) especially when you start sharing it.

Once you get broadband (high-speed) cable, DSL, or similar always-on internet connection, if the service doesn't come with a wireless router (some do) you can buy one at your office store for as little as $39US one-time-cost and install it yourself (I know Belkin has a very easy to use setup CD included with their wireless routers)

    Dial-up runs at 28Kbps-56Kbps

    Cellular broadband runs at 256Kbps-1Mbps

    DSL runs at 256Kbps-5Mbps

    Cable runs at 768Kbps-10/20Mbps

Fiber-to-the-home (such as Verizon FiOS) runs at 5Mbps-50Mbps or more

Unless you have insanely fast internet (like business grade - more than 50Mbps) the wireless won't be any slower than wired.

    Please note the difference between units!  8Mbps = 8000Kbps = 1MBps = 1000KBps
