  1. There are three importnat things that you need so you can have your computer connected wirelessly, these are: Wireless network card, which must be installed in your computer; A modem, which is most likely provided by your ISP; and a wireless router (Linksys, Belkin, Netgear). You could actually purchase these from BestBuy, Circiut City or any other Computer Shops.

    ;-)

  2. What you have to do is have the modem that either your internet provider gave you or purchased from a store. Then you buy a wireless router (popular brand is linksys) and that connects to your modem and puts out a wireless connection. BUT before you can have your connection, you computer must have a wireless ADAPTER, which receives the wireless connection. If you go to Best Buy or Circuit City someone there will be able to help you further in making a purchase. My brother wants a wireless connection and he will be able to do it for under $80. It is a bit costly but no you do not have to pay more monthly.

  3. Setting up a wireless network requires two things. ISP provider which supplies traffice via a modem or router. If your service provider is SBC then they usually ship a 2wire router which is already wireless capable. The other thing you would need is a wireless router and a host that has wireless capabilities. Most laptops these days have wireless capabilities built right in. Most wireless routers will come with a configuration cd that accompanies the router. If you have any problems you can always email me personally to help you set it up.
