  1. My higher power is God,and thru my belief in Him,I am promised eternal salvation after earth, and while I AM here, can look to His written word for comfort and guidance!

  2. He makes everything possible. He blesses me everyday. My life is better because I found Jesus Christ and I have found my purpose in life and I know that my steps are ordered. Thank You Jesus. Oh when i look over my life and see where he has brought me from, I get so glad. I'm so blessed that if he never does another thing for me, he's already done enough. I thank God for salvation and I thank God for being set free.

  3. My higher power doesn't do anything like that. It's a goal for me to reach, and by doing so I become a better person. Maybe it's the goal, or maybe it's the process of working towards that goal that's the higher power in my life, but it does not have a will and a consciousness to it and thus cannot care for my will or my life. It only provides change to the extent that I provide the footwork.

  4. By playing this song "Higher Power" by Boston! lol

  5. My higher power is a vast universe we live in. It cares for me simply by the way of its existence.

  6. Since allowing a power greater than myself into my life, guiding and directing me, my life has been infinitely better than it was before.  It keeps me clean, sober, relatively sane and taken care of on a day to day basis, provided I align myself with it and have faith that it will do these things.  It has saved my life on more than one occasion.  Working with it can go beyond this if I want it to.  There is great capacity for co-creation and likely more with this higher power, though this is something that takes understanding to do, and since this is not really within the scope of your question I'll leave it at that.

The process of going from ego-driven living to spirit-driven living is not simple and easy, but I will tell you that it's well worth it.  You will likely face doing some things that are uncomfortable.  Over time it gets easier, provided you're striving for progress.

Since making the decision to try this manner of living a number of years ago I have not once been overlooked by my higher power.  Things may not turn out how I expect, but generally when I look back it's better that they turned out as they did.

Thus far I've seen a number of people go into details about what their higher power is.  Call it what you want, I get the feeling we're all using different words to describe the same infinite force, which can only be limited by application of a definition.  I think all that matters is you find a way of looking at it that works for you.

  7. She makes my dinner and dresses me.

  8. For 1000 years, from the time of the pre-Socratic Atomist until Augustine, your view of a "higher power" was the skeptical position of Naturalism. Augustine turned it around so that Naturalism became the skeptical position to theism.

Naturalists are turning the tables again, so my answer is, I care for my own will and my life, and I believe "human life, physical, mental, moral and spiritual, is an ordinary natural event attributable in all respects to the ordinary operations of nature; and that man's ethical values, compulsions, activities, and restraints can be justified on natural grounds, without recourse to supernatural sanctions, and his highest good pursued and attained under natural conditions, without expectation of a supernatural destiny.
