  1. Use it at a border crossing anywhere in the world and you will know IMMEDIATELY!!

  2. A passport is real if there are no alterations and tampering.

  3. code

  4. Each country has there own process of encoding items of validity, the us has a chip in the cover with all the information.  Germany recently started storing digital fingerprint information on the chip in their passports.

  5. Don't want to give it all away, because that would spoil the fun....

All passports from all countries have certain similarities that must always add up.  The numbers and codes are written in certain places and often repeated.  Then, you always check photos, stamps, general condition of passport etc.

  6. It should be stamped by the Department of Homeland Security.

  7. If it's your passport, you know it's real because you applied for it and received it through the normal passport process.  If someone else has sent you a photocopy or scan of a passport to convince you that they (she) is able to fly to visit you as soon as you send money for the ticket, the passport is NOT real and you are being scammed.

  8. Using a false passport may get you many years in prison, fines, or if you're affiliated with the wrong people, a one way ticket to Guantanimo.

Go to your local post office. They will instruct you on the proper procedure or put you on the right path.

Oh, and enjoy the innoculations, hehe
