  1. One does not need a permit.

    You can homeschool through your public school district's ISP (Independent Study Program), through a private school which offers an ISP, or by filing a form known as a PSA with the state, which turnsyour home into a private school.

  3. You need to go to the DHS (Department of Homeschool Services) - you can find the nearest one in the blue page section of your local phone book.

  4. The child doesn't. The parent must file an affidavit with the Superintendent to begin homeschooling in CA.

    At that point, you'll just need to keep attendance records.
