Benefits to Americans and the other countries:

1. Cheaper products, like 99 cent Wal-mart toys

2. Provides jobs, however horrible, to people in other countries

3. Promotes trade alliances and creates an economic dependency on behalf of both countries, meaning they are less likely to blow each other up.

Disadvantages to Americans and the other countries:

1. Outsourced labor, meaning fewer jobs in America

2. Local economy suffers, putting local businesses out of business

3. Wealth is not distributed where it needs to be. It circulates in the hands of the government and the corporations, instead of being filtered back down into the local economy

Think of it this way....anytime you buy something cheap from Wal-Mart....that savings has to come from somewhere. It obviously didn't come from the kindness of the company's heart, which means it comes from wages. Cheaper labor=lower production costs which means they can sell it cheaper and retain the same profit. The only place to find the cheap labor force is illegal immigrants and migrant workers, or outsourcing to another country. People there are desperate to work and will take anything. Americans are concerned with minimum wage and thus won't take a low paying job, which results in them losing their job.

If companies were required to pay fair wages to all their workers regardless of location or immigrant status, it would eliminate a lot of the problem. They wouldn't be outsourcing as much, and jobs could stay in America.
