  1. It doesn't compare to the NFL. If all those guys on the field were hitting each other all the time, every time the ball was in play  I don't think it would take long before (a) they would think seriously about getting some pads, or (b) there wouldn't be any players left to play the sport. What the pads and helmet allows is for the player to take hit after hit and still be able to stay in the game while at the same time being able to remember what day it is.

  2. great hits... the difference is in the type of hits and the size of the players.

In the NFL every one on the line of scrimmage hits on every play. They are men who often weigh more than 300 lbs. There are also more head on head shots. The NFL isn't about jumping up and hitting with the hip. It is about straight forward drive up and through the opponent hitting.

This is the reason people who bet on games need the NFL's injury report.

  3. Learn to spell. And it doesn't compare. Hello Apples, have you met my friend Oranges? The NFL is ferocious hitting EVERY Play, all game all Season long.

  4. I think it is a very rough sport to participate in! I could never give up my NFL though, however!

  5. Cool!  Takes me back.  But, this is a highlight reel.  Find a good highlight reel of NFL hits and there will be a difference.  In Rugby, the only thing I would be worried about hurting would be my face, or head. These guys are running into each other.  NFL guys are running, and then THRUSTING there shoulders into each other, driving with their legs as they make contact.  They are both fun, exciting sports, but I don't think you can put one way above the other as far roughness.

  6. Lol awesome hits, but I gotta ask, how old is that footage? Meaning, has there been rule changes since then that don't allow that kind of thing?

  7. Great montage!  However, not knowing the AFL I have to ask are hits like that in every game or every three games, or what?

I liked how play continued with men down on the field.:)

  8. That was awesome, but it could never take the place of th NFL in my opinion.
