  1. Once the car is in sight!!

  2. I think the rules of shotgun are once the car is in sight, shotgun is up for grabs. If you really want the front, yell it as soon as you can. If other people protest and say you cant do that, then just yell it as soon as you see the car. I hope this helps your confusion about shotgun.

  3. From the Oficial Shotgun Guidebook:

    4. Early calls are strictly prohibited. All occupants of the

vehicle (including the driver) must be outside of the building

and directly on the way to the vehicle before shotgun

may be called. Under no circumstances may a person call

shotgun inside a building. For sake of simplicity, a garage is

considered to be outside. Parking structures and detached

garages are always considered as being outdoors, even if

    they are underground.

Read the complete rule book and all amendments at the link below.

  4. good question, this can get confusing but as far as i understand heres how it goes:

situation A: if all parties are being picked up in one location then shotgun can be called when the vehicle is in sight

situation B: if the parties are being picked up in seperate locations, then shotgun can be announced verbally or by texting communications 24 hours prior to the time of being picked up (usually invoked during road trips)

situation C: if all parties are being picked up in one location and the person who calls shotgun doesnt say "no bull rush", then another person can sprint toward the car and call "bull rush", if they make it first they get shotgun

  5. Haha

I believe the rule is #3. That's how we've always played.

  6. It is never OK.  I guess it's fine if your 10 years old or younger, but beyond that just grow up and do it diplomatically, don't play childish games.

  7. Once it is announced that we are leaving. My brother is such a little b*tch and whines about me always getting shotgun. The only time it's not an option is when mom or grandma are coming.

  8. Once somebody announces that you guys are going somewhere, and somebody then says "Okay, I will drive.", this implies all of you guys will be taking the same car together. At this point, since everybody understands that you guys are all carpooling, it is acceptable to yell "shot gun" to get dibs on the car seat.

So, in conclusion, when a destination and form of transportation (car obviously) are announced clearly, it's acceptable to yell out dibs.

  9. The way my friends and I have always played is once the car is seen you can yell shotgun.  You can't call it until you actually see the car and someone else has to hear it as well.  It must be verified that it was actually said .

  10. Once the car is in sight...Seriously, the earlier the better.  I guess, if you're sitting inside deciding one your destination then calling shotgun is still fair game as soon as the destination is announced.

(especially handy if you're doing a long road trip...call shotgun as soon as the decision to drive is announced...but like, you need to adhere to passenger responsibilities.  So the backseaters may be able to sleep, but because you called shotgun, you're stuck reading the map and washing the windows at the gas stop...choose your shotgun wisely)

  11. 3 once the destination is announced, shotgun can be claimed.

  12. 4)/ If you're getting in my car the answer is never.  My husband always sits in the front seat, no matter what.

  13. as soon as the destination is chosen

  14. hhm.... if no other adults are driving... maybe 12 when you're able to sit in the front...

hey, i'm 31 and for ha ha's i still do it.

  15. 4.) If you are adults.. whoever says they are driving, then the next person can call shot gun.. if its done with the right people.

However if its children.. then as soon as you see the car!

  16. Other....as soon as you set one foot out the door of your house.  I don't say shot gun...I say I have to sit in front near the window or I'll barf.  Most people let me have my way.
