  1. the female one is the best kind and usually grows better

  2. This web page has the best explanation and pictures I have found: http://www.truestoners.com/SexingPlants....

  3. Kristen, Well hon, if you undress in front of it and it turns red you know it is male !!!

  4. no...nnnooo...NO!.....IT IS NOT COMPLICATED!...Here it is from someone who learned from a master...when it sprouts it has 2 little "nub" shaped leaves...after it makes its' first pot looking 3 lobed leaf, watch how the leaf arms stem from the main branch...if two come out at the same spot (level) it is a male...if they alternate as they go up the main branch it is a female...This works every time.  You can tell in less than 10 days.

Take a look for pictures of the differences. About 1-2 weeks after light levels are equal (12 hour day 12 hour night) plants will start to show their s*x. Females have slender pistils with white hairs protruding, males have small bunches of pods that resemble tiny broccoli. These occur first at the "nodes" where the branches meet stems.

  6. This is very complicated. In simplest terms, You can only tell when the plant is in the "flowering" cycle of it's life. (the life cycles are determined by how many hours of light/darkness they get every day. Outdoors, this occours in the fall season. The sexual "organ" appears in the crook where the branches shoot off from the main stem. A little pod will grow there when the plant enters it's flowering stage. Eventually the "organs" will emerge from the pods. Males will have a little twig of balls (seriously). Females will have have two "hairs".

  7. Cannabis plants are either male or female. The male plants produce pollen which pollinates the flowers of the female plant, which once pollenized, produce seeds. If the female plant isn't pollenized (if there are no male plants nearby producing pollen), the flower/buds continue to develop and produce THC. Female plants which are not pollenized are referred to as sensemilla (without seeds).

Once your seeds begin to grow into a plant you need to s*x the plant. You need to s*x the plant because only the female plants produce the buds you want to smoke. If you are growing under lights you can do this by putting the plant on a light cycle of 12 hours on 12 hours off. After a week or two you will begin to see small white hairs emerging from the sacks at the base of the branches. If you see hairs coming out of the sacks you have a female. If the sacks develop but no hairs emerge you likely have a male. Unless you are going to seed out some of your plants you will want to get rid of the males as soon as possible
