How early must you check in for a Sri Lankan Flight from London to Colombo?

Also at Colombo we are connecting to Bangkok on another Sri lankan flight, will our bags be put onto the plane for us, or de we need to collect them and check in again. And do we have to check in again or do we just go though flight connections or something?

When I take worldwide flights around the world I get to the airport about 3 hours before the flight.
