I have to go into D.C. for an appointment tomorrow morning at 9AM, so I hope to get there around 8:30AM. Coming from Manassas, what time should I leave in the morning?

Thanks :)

  1. EARLY - Traveling 66 on a Monday AM into the city can be horrendous (Sunday eve. in the city can be horrendous). If you manage to not hit the traffic you could easily to there in 30 minutes or less. But with the usual backups, it could take hours. Consider the metro if your appt. is near a stop. Parking is difficult. Good luck!

  2. Around 7:00am, 7:30...seriously. The sad part is that if traffic is good, it can take as little as 30 minutes, if it is bad it can take hours. Depending on where you are going in DC, you might look in to taking Metro. More often than not, it is quicker/easier to hop on the Metro in Vienna and ride in, and then walk a few blocks, than it is to try driving. Not only the traffic, but trying to find a place to park can be difficult and expensive. Also if you have time today, it may be worth it (if you have never been there) to drive in and see exactly where it is that you are going, I've had to do that any number of times when going into DC.

  3. I would go to mapquest.com for find out approximently how long, then add on another 15ish minutes for traffic.
