How easy can lip piercing get infected?

they dont get infected very easily, because i play with myne all the time etc. and myne never get infected. and no, they dont leave bad scars, their barely noticeable.

The second day my lip piercing was already healing and looked great, I've had mine done for 2 months now and it has never gotten infected... just yesterday I changed it to a 14kt gold because i have sensitive skin and there was some itching going on as well for my belly button.

It varies. It's best not to risk it though. Just don't pierce your lips.

Any type of piercing can easily get infected if not taken care of well. To prevent infection just keep up with the aftercare. Usually when a bad infection occurs it can leave a scar but depending on how severe the infection was. When my navel piercing had gotten infected last year, I took extra care of it which cleared out the infection with in one week, there was no scarring at all til this day.  For the lip piercing if there is an infection just cleanse the area 3 times a day w/ warm sea salt compresses and you can also squish warm sea salt water in your mouth to cleanse the back side of the piercing. Good Luck

P.S. If you have an infection or don't  just keep in mind not to put any harsh chemicals on your piercing they will not get rid of the infection and instead they will make it worse. Chemicals such as alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, bactine, etc can clog and dry out a piercing.

most oral piercings can get infected easy cuz your mouth is so germyno matter what. so just use mouthwash and sea salt in water to clean it for a while.. and if the infection does get that bad im sure itll leave scars cuz i have a scar from my monroe.

It's pretty much a wound if you think about it.  Piercing your body = open wound.  How easily can an open wound get infected?  Easily if you don't take care of it and clean it properly.  After it's healed there's still a chance it can get infected but not nearly as close to freshly pierced ones.

And scars depends on how your body heals.  Some people form little bubble scars from piercings and others get nothing, so it's really up to your body.

yes, they can get infected easily and can leave bad scars if they dont work out. if u plan on getting one or just got one, you should buy some kind of cleaning antiseptic and clean it 2-3 times a day.  and make sure u dont take it out for a year.
