I just left my school this week (mmmmm sleep in)

So now I'm trying to find another school, preferably public, I tried Wantirna College but they're full, and Monbulk college is full too. I am SO not going to Upwey, I'd prefer to stay alive.

I may have to go on a Waiting list until next year (for yr. 11), so it looks like I might have to homeschool for next semester.

Is homeschool hard?? do you constantly need parental guidance, is it hard to get permission? Any important info that might be good...??

(I'm in australia btw, specifically Victoria)

  1. *Hard, I guess that depends on what you mean by hard. Its NO harder than regular school.

**Supervision: Someone (adult) MUST be in the home during school hours in most States. Guidance depends on how self motivated you are and what your parents can trust you to do on your own. With most curriculum they will have to grade your papers unless they get a computer based program that grades itself.

*** Permission: Go to Home school legal defense they are a group of Lawyers that help fight for the rights of homeschooling. They have a ton of great information on their web-site.

  2. Im not sure how involved the Government is with Homeschooling in Australia so I found this link for HSLDA:

Another good one to read up on:

Homeschooling during the Highschool years needs little parent supervision but you do need someone to help get the materials you need etc.  There are a TON of curriculum options out there for homeschooling but once again you need to read up on the rules of your state or providence to have a complete understanding of what they require.  Good Luck!
