How easy is it to drink underage at a bar in LA/LB?

I'm visiting Long Beach/LA to see friends who are all of age (I'm about 2 months shy of 21) .. I have an ID of a girl who looks similar to me that says I'm 21. I've also heard about grace periods in CA too...

I'm 37 and I get my i.d. thoroughly checked by the bouncers every time I try and go to a bar or club.

It's just life now. Nobody wants to be closed down because they served alcohol to a minor.

No, it is not easy.   And if you get caught your in trouble and the  liquor owner will get his liquor license taken away.  So, don't do it.  There are always police detectives undercover.
