How easy is it to get a Hackney Carriage licence in your borough?

That is the plate for the car itself, not the driver badge. Is the number of plates available capped by the council? Do they keep a waiting list?

Yes and yes. Vey few boroughs don't have waiting lists as the taxi owners associations like to keep the number of taxis controlled.

I got my Private Hire license back in April this year, but I'm not sure how different the pricing of a Hackney License is to obtain.

The main difference between the 2, is that a Hackney driver can pick up anywhere within the area that their license was issued in, whereas, a Private Hire driver can only collect fares from passengers who have booked their journey with a Private Hire firm.
