  1. Generally, it's pretty easy because there are a lot of jobs in Oz, but if you were in the hospitality business and where there are a lot of skills shortages, it will be a lot easier

  2. it's as easy as the employer makes it.  you've got the visa which means you can go to anyone advertising or any agency without fear of deportation when the employer registers you.

  3. It depends on the type of work you're looking for and where you're looking, but as a general rule, there are plenty of jobs in Australia, particularly if you're flexible about where you work and what you do. Anyone who genuinely wants a job in Oz can get one.

  4. It really depends on your qualifications and the kind of job you're looking for.

    You must also meet the following requirements to to be able to apply the Working Holiday Visa:

    1. Passport holder from UK

    2. Aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) – this means you can apply for a visa when you are 30 years of age;

    3. Have no dependent children;

    4.You must have sufficient funds (generally deemed to be at least- AU$5,000) to support your trip and purchase a return airfare.

    Hope this would help you.

  5. If you are happy picking fruit and vegetables, you can have continuous employment, without any problem at all. There is always something, in season, to be picked somewhere.

    There is such a shortage of labour for this type of employment that the Australian government will be allowing citizens of pacific island nations to have temporary work visas to come and pick.

    You can make good money if you can pick fast.

    I used to live and work in Robinvale (Vic). The grape picking season is January to May. Good pickers can make about aud $1,000 per week. However, you should probably have an expectation of about aud $500 per week, to start with, until you get used to this type of work.

    My brother in law picks oranges in Griffith (NSW) almost all year round. He is paid aud$25 per tonne of oranges picked. When oranges are good sized, he can pick a tonne in 40 minutes. However, his usual picking time would be 1 tonne every 60 to 90 minutes. Your expectation should be about 4 tonnes per day, untill you get used to this type of work.

    Also, many foreigners on working holiday visas are employed in Bartter Enterprises in Griffith, cutting chickens into fillets. I think the usual pay is about aud $16 per hour for daytime work and about aud$19 per hour if you work at night.

    Places such as Robinvale and Griffith, with many transient workers, have lots of relatively cheap, short term accommodation.

    I hope this helps!

  6. It really depends on your qualifications. I don't imagine it's too difficult to get bar/restaurant jobs, and I've heard that there are lots of office temp jobs that pay fairly well. I know from Canada we have a program called SWAP and for a fee, they will help you out with everything that has to do with your holiday, including booking accomodation for when you arrive, helping you find a job etc. My Aussie friend who is in the UK on a working holiday did a travel agent course so that she would have an easier time finding a job once she got there. I have another friend who is a teacher in Australia, and is just doing substitute teaching in the UK during her holiday.
