  1. simply it would be illegal

however prob easy to get casual work however if you get caught you would never get back in

  2. Impossible.  It is illegal if you don't have a work visa and you can only get them through a sponsoring employer.  If you stayed in a big city, you  might get work in a hotel kitchen, but not travelling round the country.  You would quickly get reported to the authorities.

  3. I knew someone that did this - but you  have to be an American citizen.  Like the poster above suggested - he did it through a temp agency.  He took short term assignments and worked though Kelly Services.  When he was ready to move on to the next area - he had the agency contact the local office at his next desired location to see what they had for him.  He did stay in each location 3 - 6 months, so I'm not sure that is what you are looking to do, but it worked for him.

  4. Don't know but unemployment rate in California is pretty bad right now. Economy going down.

  5. Very easy if you're willing to accept less than the minimum wage.

  6. I guess is hard because they usually check your information, and if they are not able to check your criminal background, etc they probably won't give you the job.

  7. Very hard, you'll find it easier if you stay in one place.

  8. I can't tell from your question if you are from the US or not.

If you are an American citizen.  It would be hard, unemployment is rising in most areas & most companies don't want someone who will up & leave in a month or a week.  The best thing I can think of is to try to get established with a temp agency, one that is national.  Robert Half has ones that deal in technology, office workers, accounting (and in some areas legal & healthcare)...but there are others.  Try to start with them where you are now, and let them know your desire to move around. If you do well in one area, the more likely they are to use you in another location, since you have history with them.  I will also help your resume...since you can say that from one date to the other, you worked for a single company in different locations.

However, if you are from out of the country traveling, I doubt that you would get work at all, its illegal unless you have a work visa.
