How easy is it to resign from a parish council?

how easy is it? and how do i go about it? i have had enough of the standing orders we enforced being broken etc and want out

  1. Tender your resignation giving at least a month, If you want to check go to your local Borough Council and speak to the Legal department, they will give you the correct way to resign

  2. It's incredibly easy. At your next meeting just tell the chairman, or the parish clerk that you wish to tender your resignation. You don't even have to give a reason unless you wish to do so,

    I am a vice chairman of my parish council and one of our councillors did that just last week

  3. Apologise to the council and leave. It's as simple as that.

    I was once a Parish Councillor, but travel and work commitments got in the way, so that is how I resigned. Just remember, in the main Parish Councillors are co-opted, not elected, so there is no formal process for leaving.
