How easy is it to wing a vacation in Belize if I only speak English?

Question

I like to go off the beatin trail when traveling the world and would like to go to a great central american country and just get around on our own for the most part. I know Belize is largely a carribean populated country so could I do this sort of travel only knowing English?

You wont have language problems in Belize, they speak English and soem Spanish it used to be known as British Honduras.It became "Belize" on Independence day in 1981

Belize used to be, until 1981, British Honduras (a british colony), so their official language IS english.

Moved to Belize from the States a couple of years ago and have been to many parts of the country.  We have had virtually no problem anywhere speaking only English.  Come to Belize and enjoy - you will likely have a great time!

Really easy. English is the official language and it's spoken by everyone. Around the borders you will here Spanish being spoken, and in the Garifuna areas the locals speak a really interesting Creol language, but everyone speaks English as well.

Getting around and seeing Belize is amazingly easy because of this.

No very easy but you get  to have fun while you are doing it so have fun and relax! Beside you only have one life live it to the fulliest
