I was told should be fine. Just for basics like place to sleep, food, a little travel by bus and a few beers.

  1. hi,

let I arrange 1day for you:

    1usd for breakfast

    5usd for lunch

    5usd for dinner

10usd for 1room/night/hotel in Loduc street, mamay street

    3usd for beer (10big glass)

you can take bus for going around vietnam from hanoi to saigon or saigon to hanoi 10usd enough for you move 1day from here to some where you want

wish you have a nice trip

  2. Ya that's more than enough. I just came back from Vietnam. Most beers that sell on streets and roads are like 8000 dongs which is like 80 cents or not even. Bus is like 50 US cents. Hotels would probably be like 10 USD per night. But i never stayed at one but I've heard it's around that

  3. Breakfast = < US$1, lunch = <US$5 (splurging here I think); dinner = <US$10 (really splurging!!!) That leaves you with US$19 per day - dang! I don't know how you will survive on that little!

There has been serious inflation in recent months, so I don't know how that has affected things, but if you have $35/day, and your return ticket is in hand, you should have a good 3 months! Of course it depends also on how frequently you want to go somewhere else.

  4. U must pay 12$ for hotel per day.with food, it's up to u, if u can find some good place. U can come to Ngon restaurant for meal, it's cheaper than other places i think, not really cheap for Vnese but cheap for foreigner. or u can have some noodle.try to find the fix price restaurant coz Asian always give u the other price if u r foreigner.for the tour 2 day 1 night to Ha long bay, it's around 60$ include kayaking n sight seeing ( Sinh cafe tourist company is good choice) if u r in Hanoi, come to Bluestar hotel .nice hotel with 12$ perday.u can try beer ahoy with just 3000VND/1 big glass.. or beer Hanoi, Halida..it's ok but if u go to the luxury restaurant it's must be expensive than 2 or 3 times i think.for the bus it's depend on where u want to go, u can take the open bus ticket (40$) n u can take the bus from Hanoi to HCM city, stop in Hue,Hoi An, Da nang for few days ... if u want some more information, u can email me..i'll try my best to help u..have fun

  5. that is good enough

  6. The boys have it right.  $35 a day is a good figure.  There are times of the year, like right now,  Where it is considered High Season and hotels and transportation are at a premium.  Prices are up because all services are in demand.  That being said it only happens in July,  August and December.  If you stay away from the tailors and shady ladies you should do just fine.  No matter where you land, just find out where the xpats drink and you can find good info on where to stay and all thing necessary.  Have fun.

  7. You probably can do it on $35 a day; but spending more sure would give you a lot more fun.  Cheers C

  8. That's enough. Regardless of renting a house, with $35/day someone can even live in western developed countries. But just wonder why you travel so long (3 months) ^_^  If you really want to enjoy the culture of a country long enough, then that would be a good idea, but if just to travel, 1 month would be enough.

  9. You'll be fine if you stick to the program, but I'm sure you may want to take a few day trips which may off shoot your budget, not by much though.
