  1. Search the net...

  2. Don't you won't save money!!

  3. With gas fired central heating, I would not think that switching it to calor gas is an option. Bottled gas is more expensive than 'mains gas' and it would be a health and safety hazard around the house. Bottled gas is for small heater appliances not a whole heating system .

To save money, I would look into switching energy suppliers on a few cost comparison sites on the internet to see if I can find a cheaper gas supplier. You need to look at your gas bills to get an idea of the KW used/annual gas charges so you can make an accurate comparison. Make sure you have room thermostats and regulate your temperature and hours of use. If you like, you could also look into cavity wall insulation and/or loft insulation. In the case of the loft, make sure you get your pipes lagged as well or they could burst in cold weather if the heating isn't on.

  4. Bottled gas costs more than pumped gas, so you would't save anything.

For any Gas works you need to get a Corgi registered gas fitter.

  5. bottle gas would be much dearer than main gas plus the fact that it has to be delivered if the roads are bad because of bad weather you could be without gas

  6. you would need to change orifices.

  7. When you compare the costs of different fuels, LPG, whether its supplied by Calor or any other company, is more expensive than mains gas, so your idea for saving money is a non-starter.  Then you need to consider the safety aspects of storing gas bottles or a gas tank.  It only makes sense for houses where there is no piped gas supply.

  8. To convert from main gas you would need to change your boiler and have a proper lpg tank fitted to comply with current regulations it is not something you just go about converting as gas valves, and injecters are totally different from NG to LPG.

  9. Propane central heating is more expensive than piped gas, so forget it, and put on a sweater like the rest of us now that fuel prices have gone through the roof.
