Well i go back to proper school on thursday. If my dad wrote a letter to my school and local aurthorities tomorow would that mean that my dad could start home-schooling me by thursday? Which meant i didn't have to go to school ever again? In my other questions i've asked about how to do it and i've looked on websites and some people do these courses where you get a big book per subject and just learn like that with a bit of help with my dad. Then i go to a local testing centre per term to get tested or i send some of my work to the teacher markers to mark then send back and comment on how im going. I Think it is a really good idea i just hope that my dad reads this letter i wrote about the bullying im getting, talks to me about it and then hopefully writes a letter tomorow or thursday if h agrees with it that is. But i don't see why he shouldn't because he can't just ignore me feeling thow bad i feel can he? So yes would he be able to send a letter to the school saying he wants to take me out of school to be home tutored? Also what other ways of learning are there with home schooling? Im 14 so i could surely teach myself a little bit whilst he's at work ( he owns a small business but he is saying he wants to slow down) I Read that theres no schedual to follow, but what would i do about ict? I don't want to go to any school. After whats all happened to me i just don't want to. I wont be anti-social because i spend alot of time with my friends at school and when its the weekend i just feel likei need a break. THerefore my brother and dad think im anti social when im not i just like my own space.... so when i don't see them for 5days i'll actually want to spend more time with them, go out with them and get to know other people! Thank you for your answers sorry this is so long

  1. Here are some homeschool support groups in England. I would check with them. Most of us answering here are in the US http://www.home-school.com/groups/englan...

  2. You don't say what state or area you a in, so the "rules" about home schooling could be different than what I am experienced with. In the state of Wisconsin, there is a form called the PI-1206 that needs to be requested, filled out and mailed back to the state. This form basically states that the parent or guardian will be providing the required number of instruction hours for the year based upon the state's guidelines. This particular form needs to be returned on or before October 15 of each year that home school is intended. It is also required to call the school district that you would normally be attending to let them know you are now being home schooled.

Hope that helps! My daughter was teased and bullied as well, which is why we have home schooled for three years now. I hope everything works out well for you! :-)

  3. Ok yes you would be able to start homeschooling that easily and fast I hope you the best I just want to warn you if you're just starting out you can become very lazy after like 6 months and not do anything make sure your dad is keeping an eye out for you and pressuring you to do your work. My parents think im anti - social too and i hang out with friends every weekend pretty much (they have jobs during the week/and school) they really want my to go to public school too idk why... I would advice signing up for a group theres a lot of them out there im thinking about signing up for a homeschooling group this year if I can convince mine to let me be homeschoooled... by the way how old are you and what grade?

  4. First, since you're in England your dad just needs to send a letter to your school telling them to deregister you, you won't be going there any more, he doesn't need to say why, make sure it gets signed for so they can't pretend they never got it. Telling the LA is their responsibility.

You do not have to follow any set course or send your work off to be marked or anything. Your dad doesn't need to teach you at all, not at 14 you should be able to study by yourself and just ask for help and resources when you need them.

If you have any goals for your life, like wanting to go to university or follow a particular career then you'll need to think about what you'll need to know or what qualifications you'll need. Other than that you can just study whatever interests you. You do NOT have to be a slave to the National Curriculum!

BTW, search on 'Home Education' rather than 'Homeschooling' because that's what it's called over here :-)
