  1. Hi Dry suit is best made of neoprene and have seals for hands and head  comes with soft boots fitted i use one for diving brilliant in cold seas

    Hope this helps

  2. With a wet suit in this time of year, it would take about 10 mins until you started to lose your core temperature. With a dry suit, it will support you for a few hours in the middle of the Irish Sea.

  3. A wetsuit is litterally a wet-suit. It will be wet inside, but it will still keep you somewhat warm.

Drysuits are dry on the inside and will keep you warmer than wetsuits. However, they also cost a lot more.

IN ireland, I'd suggest a drysuit if you are going to be in the water for a while.

  4. A dry suit would be better for the Irish Sea - more protective in cold water

  5. , the thicker the rubber the better , they come in different grades

go for 5mm , and you should be ok for colder waters

  6. A wetsuit is made of neoprene and gives insulation because it allows a small amount of water between itself and your skin. That water warms up quite quickly, so you don't lose heat. A drysuit keeps all water away from your body by means of seals at you neck and wrists and it would be better for use in the Irish Sea. You can get them in neoprene or trilaminate (similar material to a Lilo) and with neoprene or latex seals. The latex seals give a better seal than neoprene seals for skinnier folk like me, but whether the suit is neoprene or trilaminate is a matter of preference: with the latter, you need an undersuit for insulation. Also, with neoprene suits, the neoprene can be normal or crushed: with the latter, you'll probably also need an insulating undersuit.

  7. I would use a dry suit, check out the site for Northern Diver suits, they come in sizes that fit most people OR have a tailor made suit like mine (cos I am very short and have very muscular arms and legs).

Wet suits are fine but will limit your time underwater due to temperature and you will start to feel uncomfortable after a fifteen minute dive, and thats in summer !
