  1. if you get the chance to use it, go for the eyes.

  2. idk....but once there is blood in the water it will atract more sharks!!!!!!!!!!!!! id say no

  3. It could help but it depends onthe size of the shark attacking you... and what type the bull shark is way more aggressive than others!

  4. I really do not think a blade is a good self defense from a shark.

    Just a personal thought!

  5. No that would be the most dumb and stupidest thing you could ever do. To stab a shark because it would attract more sharks who would attack it and make lunch out of the injured shark and maybe you. You only punch them in the eye or gills hard to get rid of them.

  6. It depends on where you stab it, if you stab it in the eye, then you are good. I dont know about anywhere else, but a knife would defenitely be effective. ♥

  7. Most divers do not get a chance to see the shark before the attack.  Many sharks hit from below or behind.  Some will hit the prey and then back off and wait for them to be weakened from the injury.  Then they go in for the kill.  It is safer for the shark that way.

Another problem with a knife is that shark skin is pretty tough.  You might not be able to penetrate it deep enough with a knife to cause much of a problem for the shark.

Now lets say that you are not being attacked but you have a shark that is being a bit too nosy or even aggressive.  Sharks are inquisitive and they can be territorial.  I would not recommend using something that cut the shark and put blood in the water.  That might make things worse.  Jacque Cousteau used a small club that had points on the end (kind of like small nails) to push the sharks away.  It did not damage the shark to the point of letting out blood but it did cause enough pain for them to be dissuaded.  Also, the points allowed the club to grab hold of the shark skin better and gave the diver the ability to actually push the shark away.
