I'm 14. I want to help the animals that are becoming endangered because of global warming. I know that I can donate money, but my family doesn't have a lot of money. Is there anything besides giving money that I can do to help?

  1. Educate your peers. Make sure all of your online profiles (MySpace, FaceBook, etc.) link to organizations working against animals becoming endangered and against global warming. That will bring them to the attention of your friends. Subscribe to the email newsletters of a few of these groups (it's free to do so) and educate yourself about the issues around endangered species, habitat loss and global warming, so that you can talk about it in an educated manner. Start blogging, to encourage your friends to think about it as well.

Today is Earth Day -- what are you doing for such? If nothing, then find out what's happened today and see how you could get involved next year.

    Also, look into volunteering:

    VolunteerMatch, http://www.volunteermatch.org

    Idealist, http://www.idealist.org

    HandsOn Network, http://www.handsonnetwork.org/

    Change.org, http://www.change.org

    CraigsList, http://www.craigslist.com

    Network for Good, http://www.networkforgood.org

    http://www.1-800-volunteer.org/

    ServeNet, http://servenet.org/

There's also this government sponsored site, http://volunteer.gov/gov/ which provides volunteer positions through USA federal land agencies like Fish & Wildlife, Forest Service, National Parks, etc.

  2. I'm 12.  its beautiful that you want to help these animals. If you look up sites such as animal planet or sites about the tropics there are usually links leading to charity sites for loving people like you to help. I also am an animal lover. Last year we raised $200 for another animal related charity. Good Luck! I know you can make a difference!

  3. volunteer at local agencies that assist the cause

contact the closest zoo or wildlife preserve near your home and find out if they have volunteer positions

you don't always have to donate money. A lot of organizations need people to donate their time. It may involve making phone calls, stuffing and sealing envelops or standing somewhere getting people to sign a petition. And besides, your time is more valuable than money.
