  1. They are so far up their own buttocks they probably never even noticed.

  2. Frankly speaking that should not bother you.

  3. probably very embarrassing hence the changing of the name to Windsor. it is a shame we didn't use the excuse of the wars to get rid of the parasites.

  4. what is done is done now.

  5. Not only the British monarchy but also US citizens who by the millions are descended from German ancestors.

  6. Not very. Do you get on with all your family ?

  7. I think the King was very dismayed by the events of 1917, but as for the wars with Germany, I don't think they were that fazed, they never liked the Kaiser and by 1939 had dropped all links with Sax-Cobourg.

  8. oh well... i dont care

  9. This is something i have wondered also and I have come to the conclusion they probably ignored such small matters - being; 'blue blooded and totally British, don't -you- know!'

  10. *scratches head*  Calling the Czars the "agressors" in the Russian Revolution seems a we bit biased.  Surely the revolutionaries were the agressors.  The British monarch mourned the murders of many of his cousins.  And so what if Germany was an agressor in WWII?  There was no monarchy there by then, so what on earth does that have to do with the British royal family?

  11. I wonder how many generations one must have behind them to be considered British? The last German-born member of the Royal Family was Prince Albert, who died in 1861. Queen Mary bore a German title, but was born and raised in Britain.

Every monarch since George III was born and brought up in Britain. If that doesn't make them British, I don't know what does.

There was no embarassment whatsoever, members of the Royal Family served in the services during both wars to defend their own country. Not to mention the thousands of people who were of German descent in the past. They were wounded and died, just like the rest.
