I'm looking at building a mother-in-law quarters in my back yard but thought it might be neat to do something unique. I'm in Phx, and energy efficiency is important to me though. How do Log Cabin walls stack up against typical construction in regard to retaining heat and cold? Any resources or studies you can cite are appreciated. Thanks

  1. From an amateur point of view: log cabin walls are just as energy efficient (if not more so, with proper sealant) than fiberglass filled walls.
