Question:

How ethical is Gore's 'An Inconvenient Truth'?

Al Gore claims global warming is a moral issue, but how ethical is he in his book? He has manipulated a lot of figures to make them seem worse than they are, is that ethical? Is it ethical to make a film to help him become more successful politically? Does it matter anyway, or is it more important to get the point across?

Also can any Americans tell me if there's a distinction between ethical and moral cause apparently there is in the USA but not in the UK, would be interested to know how true that is. (Because Gore tends to say it's a moral issue)

Any comments appreciated :)

  1. Global warming is REAL and most governments and scientists have acknowledged it... the only people who still think it's a hoax are those people who have never studied any science in school and get their news from FOX NOISE NETWORK

  2. I assume you're referring to the British court case last year which examined whether Gore's documentary, "An Inconvenient Truth" could be shown in British classrooms?  The judge did rule that it could.

Gore posted a response to the court's findings:

    http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-chec...

  3. What does ethics have to do with it?  Al Gore is a politician.  Political Ethics is a classic oxymoron.

  4. Wow,,,,you used ethical and al gore's name in the same sentence!!!???!!!

                                         NO!!!!!

    Ethics

    1. (used with a singular or plural verb) a system of moral principles: the ethics of a culture.

    2. the rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group, culture, etc.: medical ethics; Christian ethics.

    3. moral principles, as of an individual: His ethics forbade betrayal of a confidence.

    4. (usually used with a singular verb) that branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.

      Morals

  5. you ******* *****

  6. Algore's movie and book rantings are every bit as ethical as those n**i propaganda films they were inspired by.

  7. Global warming is FAKE.

everone  says the glaciers are melting but they have been melting for over 1,000 years. Same thing will Antarctica,Its been melting for a lot of years. Recently Machines came back will the tempacher of the water. And it said the waters are not warming or getting higher. So there you go

  8. Very UNETHICAL !

To use a graph of ONLY 650,000 years out of earth's 4.55 BILLION year history,

    IS VERY MISLEADING & UNETHICAL.

    To put in perspective,

that is 1/7000 th of earth's estimated history.

That is the equivalent to basing a theory on

1/2 inch from a football field.

Professor Revelle (Gore's mentor) co-wrote that

    THE SCIENCE IS TOO UNCERTAIN

    to warrant any drastic changes.

  9. I believe the question here is how true is it. The answer: Not very. Not very at all. In fact, Gore is Satan incarnated.

And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.

  10. Jello - "This is the only movie that has these requirements. There is no movie that talks about global warming fraud that needs to have disclaimers announced to the audience."

There are none, because they are in the category of fiction.

J Razz - Why don't you show us what figures he manipulated. Gore gave the worst case figures of scientists. That's not manipulation, that's just the high end of an established range. The only manipulation here is your perception of reality.

  11. How ethical is it to title your film "truth" and then pepper it with prevarications and exaggerations?

Not very ethical. If it were a moral issue Gore would give up his Jet,Limos, and multiple mansions-that is if he had morals.

This is the guy who led the crusade against "immoral" rock music disregarding our freedom of speech.

  12. Not very. You don't stretch the truth untill it can not be found to get a point across no matter what the point is.

  13. I have never seen Al Gore display any ethics or morals.

He complains about global warming, yet flies around in his private jet which is one of the most inefficient models out there.  He tells us to go green while one of his properties uses over ten times more gas, electricity, and water than the average American household.

If you can't walk the walk, don't talk the talk.

  14. Now a days everything is associated with global warming

  15. He is a goof!

How about all that property he owns in Nashville, Georgetown and San Francisco?

He is driven around in private planes, limousines and other fossil fuel gulping and wasteful transportation but then wants you and I to ride a bike or walk.

    s***w him....he's fat a s s loser!!

It was supposed to be Al Roker that won the Nobel Prize!  Not Al Gore!

  16. VERY! ---- after all he invented the "internet".  :)

  17. Not very.  There's a court order mandating that several lies and "mis-statements" be read to the audience before the movie is shown.

This is the only movie that has these requirements.  There is no movie that talks about global warming fraud that needs to have disclaimers announced to the audience.
