I can't tell you how many times I have read and heard someone saying something to the matter of.."you Atheists have to have a lot more faith in what you *believe* in order to count out god"...hmmm....Why is that? Can someone explain this to me? How is not believing in something that isn't physically proven difficult?

  1. In the absence of any real arguments against atheism, some people resort to saying nonsense and hoping that no-one notices.

It may also be that those people assume that everything is either proven or false - there seems to be a lot of that problem going around here.

  2. Because of the lack of facts that show there is no God and because of the mass of evidence that there is a God

Can you prove atheism? Atheism says there is no God. But you cannot say that unless you have absolute knowledge. For example is it possible that we know 1% of all there is to know in the universe. Or even if we are really very generous and say we know 50% of all there is to know.

Is it possible that there is ample proof for God in that 50% that you don't know. If you are reasonable you will say yes. Therefore you do not conclusively KNOW there is no God. You simply are agnostic.

  3. Maybe you are looking at it wrong. I have complete faith in the scientific laws of the Universe and biological evolution. Scientific research and discovery is the only thing that is going to save Mankind, not some sky jockey.

  4. I don't know about "more" faith.  But faith.

Evolutionists have faith in their theory of origins (and I mean the parts they have no evidence for, like cavemen and the making of fire, and their belief that cavemen were non-speakers, etc.  Dealing with this currently in 6th grade Social Studies).

Secular Humanists have faith in humanity.

  5. Many indoctrinated people find it difficult to think outside the box. Some grapple for explanations which tie well to their own belief perameters. It seems silly to you because it is a non argument, however, you can't force them to understand that. They must see it for themselves.

  6. Ah...no. Believers can't explain this bizarre logic scheme because it's patently illogical, though they will repeat it over and over and over again. What else would you expect from someone who believes a magical dude in the sky is watching their every move?

  7. The same way that I have "faith" that green flying eight-legged poodles don't exist.
