How exactly do i start a sole proprietorship in Chicago, IL?

I own a web design company here in Chicago, IL. I want to start a Sole Proprietorship, because I do not have the funds to start a LLC or Corporation as of now. What ALL do I need to do to form a Sole Proprietorship here in Chicago, IL?

Get yourself a resale licence - so you can re sale and have a tax number. I believe that's all you need to be a sole proprietor.  They just need a way to see what you are earning and a way to tax you.  Typically the cost is a percentage of your "expected" income for the year.  Check it out locally.
